POST #2 – 10.20.21: When mastering at @bgmastering, we cut and evaluate test refs on both of their lathes: tube and solid-state. This is especially true when we use VR-900 super vinyl on our 1STEPs, as that formulation can dramatically affect the presentational quality of the audio. Why go to the extra expense in money and time? Because one type of electronics may not bring out the purest character of a master tape as well as the other. So we try both. It’s just another way we seek to redefine definitive in every album we make.
